DHS Group’s Journey in Empowering Communities Through Inclusive Workforce Development
Since its inception in 2016, the DHS Foundation has been dedicated to uplifting underserved communities by providing essential skills and career opportunities. The foundation’s first major initiative, the Malaysian Industrial Attachment Program (MIATP), launched in collaboration with the Malaysian Institute of Human Resource Management (MIHRM) as the DHS-MIHRM Career Work Skills Program. By December 2016, DHS had partnered with SEGI FRESH Hypermarket, followed by collaborations with the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (January 2017) and the Malaysian Association of Wellness & Spa (MAWSPA) (February 2017).
DHS Group solidified its commitment to inclusive workforce development through strategic partnerships:
Teamed up with the Malaysian Association of the Blind (MAB) to design specialized hospitality training programs for visually impaired individuals.
Partnered with Yayasan Atlet Kebangsaan Malaysia (YAKEB) to create career transition initiatives for national athletes.
During this period, DHS joined forces with ASIANA to broaden its impact, delivering:
Vocational training and job placements for single mothers, persons with disabilities, and underprivileged youth.
Rigorous professional standards to ensure high-quality skills development.
Recognizing the need to uphold its core values, DHS:
Dissolved the ASIANA partnership due to differing perspectives on training integrity.
Formed a new alliance with East Bay to enhance program quality and expand opportunities.
The launch of Akademi Daya Hospitality Siswa marks a bold step forward in addressing Malaysia’s workforce challenges:
Underprivileged Community Upliftment
Tailored programs for urban poor, rural youth, former convicts, and persons with disabilities.
Graduate Employment Initiative
Tackling graduate unemployment through reskilling programs, career counseling, and regional job placements.
✅ Regional Placements – Successful job matches in Malaysia and Singapore’s hospitality sectors.
✅ Specialized Training – Customized curricula to meet diverse community needs.
✅ Ethical Commitment – Maintaining DHS’s gold standard of professionalism and integrity.
"From our earliest partnerships to the establishment of Akademi Daya Hospitality Siswa, every step reflects our unwavering belief that talent is universal, but opportunity is not," says Dr. S. Sri Kumar, Founder of DHS Group. "We are not just creating jobs—we are transforming lives by building sustainable, dignified careers."
Through continuous innovation and ethical leadership, DHS Group remains a driving force in inclusive workforce development, ensuring no one is left behind in Malaysia’s economic growth.
